Aloha from the Kailua Shambhala Meditation Group Coordinator – April 2019

Dear Shambhala Ohana,

I hope that this email finds you well and enjoying the the warmer temperatures and blooming flowers of Spring. I thought Iʻd let everyone know that we will be hosting Dr. Dean and Meditation on the Beach on next Sunday April 7th, 2019 from 9 to 11 am.  See below for details.

In the meantime, due to consistent low attendance Iʻm cancelling group medittion in Honolulu at Church of the Crossroads. This will free us up to focus on securing a regular meeting location in Kailua.  I have not been able to get a space rental hourly rate from the CrossFit gym in Honolulu town I attend, so Iʻm moving on and reaching out to the CrossFit in Kailua, as well as other venues in Kailua town. Iʻd like to get us in a physical location by June. Keep your fingers crossed for us!

Warmest Aloha,

Arleen Garcia-Herbst
Group Coordinator

Membership is a way to express appreciation for what Shambhala provides and helps make it available to others. This involves three areas of engagement and support: 1. Practicing meditation (10 minutes a day at home and group sitting when possible); 2. Volunteering (helping with group meditation and programs); and 3. Providing financial support.

Becoming a dues paying member is a statement about your personal inspiration, curiosity, and commitment to the path of awakening. Anyone interested in Kailua Shambhala is encouraged to become a member. Local membership includes membership in Shambhala International, a global community committed to cultivating mindfulness, awareness and compassion―personally, culturally and within society.

The Kailua Shambhala Meditation Group relies on membership dues and donations for a predictable monthly budget to secure a space to host weekly group meditation and programs, and views financial generosity as part of our practice of creating Enlightened Society.

We strongly encourage our regular meditators to become dues paying members. We have tiered membership levels taking into consideration financial hardship and ability for patronage: $20/month for an individual experiencing financial hardship; $50/month for an individual; $75/month for a family; $108/month for individual patron. Please fill out our on-line membership form, or contact us by e-mail ([email protected]) or phone (808-376-8965), and we will be in touch with you. You can also visit our website and use the PayPal Donate button to make a one-time donation or set up a recurring monthly payment for membership dues.
